Artist Profile Bio:

Beau Wanzer began performing in late 2002 at various galleries and basement spaces around Chicago . The project consisted of a korg kr55, roland sh101, and juno 6. These performances were heavily influenced by early EBM and projects like SPK and Esplendor Geometrico. While pursuing a degree in Molecular Biology he worked at Weekend Records and Soap, a local shop ran by Bridgette Wilson and Jim Magas (Couch, Lake of Dracula , MAGAS). The shop's eclectic mix of Chicago house, dutch electro, no wave, mutant disco, and experimental DIY had a large impact on shaping his sound. A firm believer in combining these elements, his recording and live aesthetic relies strictly on analog synthesizers and drum machines, without the aid of samplers or midi. He is currently working on an EP for NATION.

Beau Wanzer also has a side project with Traxx as MUTANT BEAT DANCE, which dabbles in the early inception of darker weirder electronic music from the early days of machine music.
Having received high praise for their track ‘In a Daze’ on Disco Capablanca, they are continuing to produce tracks of variation and mutating styles.
