Saturn V -
Locomotion
...is a track done in the style of the Muzic Box Spirit.
A dark and haunting bassline sharing from the 101, while the drums move in a deadly rhythm with an almost annoying tribal wood knock hypnotizing the mood. A whisperous voice shouts 'sexy train dancing train' while the sound of the train on the tracks are gettin' whipped filthy.
Side B1:
Beau Wanzer -
Fuk U Klaxsons
...a new artist to the label from the underground Chicago noise/DIY scene.
Performing since 2003 in various dilapidated basements. He's not concerned with self-promotion, but more concerned with making music that evokes a raw and different element. For his first official release, the song title is in reference to not being engulfed by current trends, genre pigeonhole, or hype. It's about doing something different and experimentation, most importantly, not being classified into one type of sound. Mutating sound into another lifeform and encouraging others to do the same.
Side B2:
D'Marc Cantu -
In A Time
...started as an experiment while working with JTC to create 2AM/FM part 1.
After hours of tweaking instruments to perfection he came up with a track that has a house soul but the body of a drug induced dream. Fast forward to the present all of that experimentation became this sinister cyclical creepy layered feel of his own evolution what is now known as Jakbeat. The elements applied to this type of sound will hopefully create an ozone of slow deep texture.
